Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data TechCuber collects when you use Authorvia, why, who it's shared with and your rights. In short: we use your data to run the service, your manuscripts stay yours, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, email, company or agency name, password (stored securely, never in plain text) | To create your account, log you in and email you about your jobs. |
| Manuscripts, style guides, book ideas and the files we produce | To provide the services you ask for. |
| Purchases, credits and plan details | To give you what you paid for and keep accounts. Card details go to Paddle and are never seen or stored by us. |
| Usage data: jobs, word counts, log-in times, IP address | To run, secure and improve the service, to support you, and to limit the free trial to one per person (we record the IP address used for free trials). |
| Messages you send us | To answer you. |
| Free trial: your email address, name and when you used the free snapshot and sample | To send you your free results, to make sure each person gets the free trial once (we keep this even if you close your account), and, only if you agreed, to send you writing tips and offers. |
| Affiliate details (if you join the affiliate programme) | To track referrals and pay commission. |
Legal basis
We process your data to perform our contract with you, to meet legal duties (such as tax records), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working well. Where we need consent, for example for optional marketing emails, we ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run Authorvia, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Paddle: payments, invoices, tax and refunds (Merchant of Record). Paddle's own privacy policy applies to the checkout.
- AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic; ElevenLabs for some audiobook voices): the text of your manuscript is sent to them to edit, assess, write or narrate it. We use their business APIs, under which your content is not used to train their models.
- Hosting, storage and email providers: to run our servers, keep your files and send emails.
- Our editors: only for jobs that go to human review.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where data leaves the EU or UK, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Manuscripts and delivered files: deleted automatically 30 days after the job finishes.
- Account details: while you have an account, and up to 2 years after it was last used.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually 6–10 years).
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs: a login session cookie, a security cookie that protects forms (CSRF), and, if you arrive through an affiliate link, a ref cookie that remembers the referral for 60 days. Paddle sets its own cookies during checkout. We don't use advertising cookies.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, files are private to your account and access is limited to staff who need it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal data, object to or limit how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email support@authorvia.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority; California residents have the rights given by the CCPA, and we don't sell or share personal information as defined there.
Children
Authorvia is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll email you.
